Investing is a purely personal pursuit.
At the end of the day, you stand alone with your successes and missteps. No one is around to throw you a life line.
That’s how it should be, I think.
Though I’ve also found that as long as you take ownership of your role, you can actually do a lot better on your own than you can with an overpaid Wall Street advisor.
And I think I can help you get there!
For years now, I’ve helped thousands of novice, “go-it-alone” investors become self-sufficient. Recently, at our annual Irrational Economic Summit, one of my Seven-Figure Traders walked up to me with a print-out in his hand. It was a report I’d put together outlining important details about my market-timing strategy.
I noticed he’d highlighted key lines and scribbled notes in the margins…
And my heart sang!
This guy was truly taking ownership of his financial future.
He was using my strategies, and the lessons I teach, to devise his best way forward.
As I said, creating a secure and prosperous financial future for yourself is on you!
And I’m convinced that lasting success depends on you determining what’s right for you. Of course, it helps if you follow one of a handful of time-tested strategies… which I’m happy to teach you.
Because at the end of the day, the best strategy is the one you can stick with. That’s why, in addition to keeping my strategies simple, I enjoy playing “coach” and helping you learn how to avoid the behavioral pitfalls that trip up most investors.
Not seeing the big picture is one of those pitfalls…
The Role of Captain
Look, I want you to stop thinking of yourself as an investor.
Investing is only part of what you do, if you’re doing it right.
Rather, start thinking of yourself as a captain. The captain, better yet.
You’re in charge of charting a course and navigating your way to financial freedom.
Investing is the sexy part of that role.
And that’s what most go-it-alone investors focus on – solely.
But there are other parts to playing captain, like planning and protecting.
Most people fall into the trap of focusing solely on investments – finding the best ones, buying and selling them, and tallying their returns (and losses).
The best investors look at the big picture and embrace all components of the captain’s role.
Think about what it takes to be a successful ship captain… you’ve got to be well-rounded and equally focused on all major components of the job.
You must plan your route, which includes choosing a specific destination, charting a course, and making alternate plans for if/when things go wrong.
You must sail the ship, of course. That’s the fun, sexy part.
And you must protect your ship against threats, from mechanical failure to natural disasters to pirates.
You need ALL of these skills to be a successful captain.
Now, consider a silk merchant in England, who’s expecting a shipment of goods he ordered to arrive by sea on December 1… By January 1 there’s no sign of it and no word from the ship’s captain…
Can the merchant assume definitively that the captain doesn’t know how to sail?
The captain’s failure to arrive at port may be due to poor sailing skill. But the failure might just as easily be attributed to poor planning, or his failure to protect the ship from pirates.
The captain’s sailing skills may have nothing to do with the failure to deliver.
The same goes for the captaining of your financial future, I think.
How much of a kick in the teeth would it be to be successful at investing (the “fun” part, akin to sailing), but still live a subpar financial life just because you failed to see the importance of planning and protecting – the “Big Picture,” so to speak?!
I don’t want that to happen to you!
And I truly think I can help you.
My Secrets of a Seven-Figure Trader service is specifically designed to introduce you to the simplest and most powerful investment strategies I know.
